Dr. Elisabeth Germanier
My research focuses on how individuals behave in and experience demanding work-related situations, from high-stakes selection interviews to everyday emotionally demanding situations at work. Within this framework, I currently examine when and for whom higher emotional intelligence (EI) benefits performance, well-being, and satisfaction, as well as whether and how EI training can lead to changes in behavior and outcomes.
Across my work, I combine laboratory experiments, longitudinal diary studies, and quantitative methods, including AI-based approaches, to study these situations from complementary perspectives and build a more comprehensive understanding of emotional functioning at work
