31.8.2026 - ECADE Lab on the Conference Circuit this Summer!
This summer, several members of our lab had the opportunity to travel, present their research, and connect with colleagues at international conferences. From Brisbane to Edinburgh and New Haven, it was a rewarding few weeks full of stimulating discussions, new ideas, and plenty of inspiration to bring back to the lab.
Evgenia attended the 2026 conference of the International Society for Research on Emotion (ISRE) in Brisbane, Australia. As part of our ongoing SNSF project, she presented her research asking whether training emotion recognition ability can influence subsequent cognitive processes, particularly attention.
Rahel travelled to Edinburgh for the 22nd European Conference on Personality (ECP22) and presented her work on an increasingly relevant question for early parenthood: How is smartphone use related to maternal well-being during the first months of motherhood?
Katja attended the 10th Congress of The International Society for Emotional Intelligence (TISEI) in New Haven, which marked 35 years of Emotional Intelligence research. A particular highlight was receiving the Paul Schmitz Memorial Award for Excellence and Innovation in Research for work on Emotional Intelligence and the perception of online hate speech – a recognition of the relevance of Emotional Intelligence research for understanding the digital environments that increasingly shape social interaction.
We returned from these conferences with renewed enthusiasm for our research. And while much of our work at the ECADE Lab – Emotional Competence in Analog and Digital Environments – focuses on digital contexts, we are always happy when conferences give us the chance to connect with our colleagues in analog ways, too!

1.4.2026 - Welcome to our new lab member Elisabeth!
We are very happy to welcome Dr. Elisabeth Germanier, who joined the ECADE Lab as a postdoctoral researcher. She will work on our SNSF project “Proximal and distal effects of emotion recognition training in typically developing adults,” investigating how training emotion recognition may influence social attention and emotional reactivity.
We are very happy to have you on the team, Eli!

27.12.2025 - The SENTI-P Data Collection is Finished!
Data collection for the SENTI-P study (investigating individual differences in psychological well-being during the transition to motherhood) has now come to an end. A heartfelt thank you to all the mothers who took part and so generously shared their experiences with us!
